Selling Real Estate in the Age of Coronavirus

Nationwide real estate brokerages are telling their agents to work from home as our country deals with the spread of the Coronavirus.

The Oregon Governor, Kate Brown, has advised against gatherings of 10 people or more for the next eight weeks.

It is going to be a big adjustment for real estate agents and home buyers and sellers. Selling real estate has always been a person-to-person business. From going on listing appointments with sellers, to show listings to buyers and closing the transaction at the escrow desk, all traditionally conducted in person. Even open houses have been canceled.

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has been sending out nationwide memos to real estate brokerages and real estate agents offering advice on how to adapt their real estate business to the age of the Coronavirus.

From setting up virtual house tours to establishing protocols for showing properties, conducting home inspections & appraisals, and working online tools and systems to manage transaction and closing process.
